Overview
TrakIT is a workflow management system for logistics. Each shipment or assignment your company handles is a job, made up of work orders: usually one for each container or load. Each work order follows a workflow that your company sets up, with the events to record, the data to capture and the documents to collect along the way. See the Glossary for the terms TrakIT uses.
Around its jobs, TrakIT also covers:
- finance: quotations and rates, the estimates and actuals of each job, invoices, bills, receipts and payments, and accounting;
- warehouses and container yards;
- leads and contacts;
- attendance, leave, employee records and training;
- dashboards and reports.
You use TrakIT in a web browser. On a phone, TrakIT can also open as a mobile app made for small screens. If your company sets them up, your customers and transporters can follow their work orders, invoices and bills in the external portal, where your suppliers can also send you their bills, and other systems can exchange data with TrakIT through its API.
What you see in TrakIT depends on your company and your role. Your company chooses the menus and workflows it uses, and gives each user roles that decide what they can see and do. Your company may also name some menus and labels differently from this site.
Using this site
Section titled “Using this site”The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”The sidebar lists the sections of this site. After Getting started and Signing in and your account, the sections follow TrakIT’s top menu, from Home to Administration. Then come the external portal, the guides, troubleshooting, the reference pages and the API reference.
Most pages describe one page of TrakIT. In the sidebar, a page that lists records, such as Invoices, has the page for one record, such as Invoice, under it. Each of these pages starts with what the TrakIT page is for and how to open it, then the common tasks, then the details of its fields.
On these pages, labels in bold are what TrakIT shows on screen, and menu paths are written with > between the menu levels, for example Operations > Jobs.
Search
Section titled “Search”To find a page, select Search at the top of any page, or press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac), then type what you are looking for.
Languages
Section titled “Languages”This site is in English, French and Spanish. Choose your language with the language picker at the top of the page; the site remembers your choice in that browser. Until you choose, the home page opens in your browser’s language if it is French or Spanish. A page that is not translated yet is shown in English, with a note.
