Country holidays

The Country Holidays page holds the public holidays and the weekend days of each country. TrakIT uses them to count business hours: for a KPI measured in business hours, holidays and weekend days don’t count. See Where TrakIT uses them.

To open it, select System > Country Holidays.

Holidays belong to a country, not to a company: everyone on your installation shares the same list for a country.

  1. Choose the country in the list at the top (Select Country…). The list holds the countries of your Geo Data.
  2. The page shows two tabs: Holiday List and Weekend. It opens on Holiday List.

The Holiday List tab shows the country’s holidays for one year, in date order.

  • Select Year: chooses the year: from two years ago to next year. The page opens on the current year.
  • Date shows the date and the day of the week, for example 25 Dec 2026, Friday.
  • Name shows the holiday’s name.

If the country has no holidays that year, the list says No Holidays defined for and the year.

You don’t need to add holidays that fall on a weekend day: weekend days are left out anyway.

To add a holiday:

  1. Choose the country.
  2. Select Add….
  3. In New Holiday, choose the Date: and type the Name:, up to 100 characters. Both are required. TrakIT capitalizes the first letter of each word of the name, and makes the other letters lowercase.
  4. Select Create.

The holiday appears in the list of its year. A holiday can be from 1 January two years ago up to 31 December next year.

To change a holiday:

  1. Point to the menu icon at the end of the holiday’s row.
  2. Select Modify.
  3. In Modify Holiday, change the Date: or the Name:.
  4. Select Save.

To delete a holiday, point to the menu icon at the end of its row and select Delete. Delete Holiday shows the holiday: select Delete.

The Weekend tab sets which two days of the week are the country’s weekend. In Select Weekend Days:, choose one of:

  • Saturday & Sunday (the default)
  • Friday & Saturday
  • Thursday & Friday
  • Friday & Sunday

TrakIT saves the change as soon as you choose, and says Weekend days changed. Only a system administrator can change it: for other users, the list is greyed out.

  • KPIs in business hours. When an administrator sets up a KPI in a workflow, In Business Hours makes it count business hours for a chosen country and time zone. TrakIT then counts only 09:00 to 17:00, local time, on the days that are neither weekend days nor holidays of that country; a business day is 8 hours. These KPIs show Business Hours on the KPIs tab of a work order, and are in italics on the KPIs tab of Notifications. Other KPIs count calendar hours, whatever the holidays and weekends.
  • Leave. On installations that use leave management (HR > My Leaves, see How days are counted), a leave application doesn’t count the holidays of the country of the employee’s company, and the leave calendar shows the holidays of your company’s country. For leave, the weekend is always Saturday and Sunday, whatever the Weekend tab says.

Delay tracking doesn’t use them: free days and the days counted against them are calendar days, weekends and holidays included.
