Asset map view

The Asset Map View page shows where the assets on open work orders are: each asset’s last reported position, on a map and in a list.

To open it, select Operations > Asset Map View.

An asset appears when:

  • its asset type has GPS, and it has reported a position;
  • it is assigned to an active or abandoned work order;
  • the work order is between the two events set for this purpose in its workflow: the first event has a date, the position is later than that date, and the second event has no date yet.

An asset assigned to more than one such work order has a row in the list for each, but only one arrow on the map. You see only the work orders of the workflows you have access to.

  1. In the Filters panel, enter any part of a job reference or container number, or of an asset’s name or serial number.
  2. Select Search.

Reset clears the filters.

Found shows how many rows the list has. When an asset is on more than one work order, the number of assets follows in brackets. Next to it, a key explains the lights: Under 1 hr, Under 12 hrs and Older.

Column Shows
Asset The asset’s name, and its serial number if different. Select the name to open the asset. The light shows how recent the position is.
Last Location The address or the coordinates of the last position, how long ago it was reported and, if the asset was moving, its speed.
WO / Container The work order and its container. Select the work order to open it.
Last Event The work order’s last event, and how long ago it happened.

Select the map pin icon at the end of a row (Show on map) to centre the map on that asset and open its details. The asset’s rows are highlighted in the list.

The map shows the assets in the list, and fits them all in view. When you search again, it shows only the assets found. Until the list has an asset, the map area shows No locations to display.

On a narrow screen, the map is above the list. Selecting a pin icon in the list scrolls the map back into view.

Each asset is an arrow pointing in its direction of travel. Its colour, like the light in the list, shows how recent the position is:

Colour Position reported
Green Less than 1 hour ago.
Orange (amber in the list) Less than 12 hours ago.
Red 12 hours ago or more.

Select an arrow to see the Asset Name, the serial number (Source), the Time of the position, the Speed and the Direction.
