Compare workflows

The Workflow Comparison page shows two workflows side by side, so that you can see what one has that the other lacks: events, data fields, default accounts, KPIs and forms. Use it, for example, to check a copy of a workflow against the original, or to line up two workflows that should work the same way.

To open it, select Admin > Workflow Definitions, then Compare.

The page only shows the workflows; to change one, open it with Open Workflow in new Tab and change it on its workflow page.

  1. In Workflow A, choose the first workflow.
  2. In Workflow B, choose the second workflow.
  3. Select a tab: Events, Data, Accounts, KPIs or Forms.

The lists show the active workflows you have access to; system administrators see all active workflows. Archived workflows are not listed. You can also choose only one workflow, to list its items without comparing.

The page opens on the Events tab. Below each workflow you choose, Open Workflow in new Tab opens its workflow page, and Refresh reloads both lists, for example after you have changed one of the workflows in the other tab.

Each side shows Found: with the number of items, and a list:

Column Shows
Code On the Events, Data and KPIs tabs: the item’s code.
Name The item’s name.
Match? When both workflows are chosen: whether the other workflow has the item. Yes in green, Partial in amber, No in red.

Point to a code or a name to highlight, in yellow, the same code or the same item in both lists.

The workflow’s events, in their order in the workflow. Name is the master event, with its suffix in grey.

Match? Means the other workflow has
Yes The same master event, and an event with the same code.
Partial Only one of the two: the same master event under another code, or the same code for another master event.
No Neither.

The workflow’s data fields, in their order in the workflow. Name is the master data field, with its suffix in grey. Match? works as on the Events tab.

The workflow’s default accounts, set up on the Finance tab of the workflow page, grouped under Income, Expense and Disbursement. They include the default accounts of all the companies of the workflow. Name is the account master.

Match? is Yes if the other workflow has the same account master among its default accounts, and No if not.

The workflow’s KPIs. Code shows the codes of the KPI’s start and end events, for example ARR-DEL, and Name the KPI.

Match? is Yes if the other workflow has the same KPI, whatever its events, and No if not.

The forms linked to the workflow, by name. Match? is Yes if the other workflow has the same form, and No if not.

Your role needs Read in the WorkFlow Definitions section to see Compare and open the page.
