Yard stock
The Yard Stock Report page reports the stock of one container yard over a week or a month: how many containers were in the yard at the start and at the end, how long they have been there, how many came in and went out through the gate, and how many were stripped or stuffed.
To open it, select Yards > Stock.
The report is built from the yard moves that have been carried out, as recorded on the Yard moves page and in the Device app. Planned and cancelled moves are left out. For the containers in the yard right now, see Yard inventory.
Run the report
Section titled “Run the report”- In Yard, choose the container yard.
- In Period, choose Weekly or Monthly.
- For a week, enter any day of the week in Week, or pick it from the calendar. For a month, choose it in Month.
- Select Refresh.
The report also updates as soon as you change the yard or the period.
- Yard lists the container yards of the companies you have access to that have at least one zone; system administrators see every container yard. It starts on the yard you last chose in the device app, if you have chosen one there.
- A week runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00 in your time zone. Week starts on today; if it does not hold a valid date, TrakIT uses today.
- Month offers the current month and the eleven months before it. A month runs from the first day at 00:00 to the last day at 24:00 in your time zone.
Above the report, TrakIT shows the yard’s name and the period, for example Week: 21 Sep 2026 (Mon) – 27 Sep 2026 (Sun). For the current week or month, the closing figures are those of now.
How containers are counted
Section titled “How containers are counted”- A container is in the yard at a given time when its last move carried out before that time was made in this yard and was not a gate-out.
- Whether a container is full or empty, and its direction (import, export or none), come from its last move.
- Sizes: 20’ counts containers of 20 feet, 40’+ containers of 40 feet or more, and Other everything else, such as trucks, wagons and break-bulk units, which have no container size. The Other columns appear only when the yard has such units in the report.
- A reefer is a container whose type code has R as its third character, for example
45R1. Reefers are counted in the sizes, and also shown on their own.
Inventory
Section titled “Inventory”Inventory counts the containers in the yard at the start of the period (Opening) and at its end (Closing), by size, in these rows:
| Row | Counts |
|---|---|
| Import Full, Export Full | Full containers whose last move is an import or an export. |
| Full – Direction Not Set | Full containers whose last move has no direction, or the direction Other. Shown only when there are any. |
| Export Empty | Empty containers whose last move is an export. |
| Import Empty | Empty containers whose last move is an import. Shown only when there are any. |
| Empty – Direction Not Set | Empty containers whose last move has no direction, or the direction Other. An empty container has no direction, so empties appear here while they are in the yard. Shown only when there are any. |
| Total in Yard | All the containers in the yard. |
Under the table, Reefer (included above) gives the number of reefers at the opening and at the closing.
Aging Analysis (Dwell Time)
Section titled “Aging Analysis (Dwell Time)”Aging Analysis (Dwell Time) shows how long the containers in the yard at the end of the period had been there: 0 - 5 Days, 6 - 10 Days, 11 - 20 Days, 21 - 30 Days and > 30 Days. The columns are Empties, Full Import, Full Export, Full Other (full containers whose last move has no import or export direction) and Total.
The days are counted to the end of the period from the container’s latest gate-in at this yard, or, for a container with no gate-in there, from its last move. The total is the same as the closing Total in Yard.
Gate Movements
Section titled “Gate Movements”Gate Movements counts the gate-ins (Gate In) and gate-outs (Gate Out) carried out in the yard during the period, by size, and also as Full and Empty, and by how the container travelled: Truck or Rail. A move with no transport mode counts as Truck.
Stripping & Stuffing
Section titled “Stripping & Stuffing”Stripping & Stuffing counts the Stuffing, Stuff Partial, Stripping and Strip Partial moves carried out in the yard during the period, by size, with the number of reefers. The partial rows are shown only when there are any.
These moves change whether a container is full or empty, but not the number of containers in the yard, so they are not part of the reconciliation.
Movement Reconciliation
Section titled “Movement Reconciliation”Movement Reconciliation checks that the figures add up: the Opening Inventory, plus the Gate In moves, minus the Gate Out moves, gives the Closing Inventory.
When they do not add up, Other Adjustments shows the difference. It comes from containers whose first move in the yard was not a gate-in, from containers moved between yards, and from moves that were cancelled or changed.
Export and print
Section titled “Export and print”- Select Export to download the report as an Excel file. It has the same tables, one under the other; the Stripping & Stuffing table includes the partial rows even when they are zero.
- Select Print to print the report, with its title and the time it was printed.
Who can use this page
Section titled “Who can use this page”You open the page with Stock in the Yards menu, and your role needs Read in the Yard Moves section. Without it, TrakIT shows Authorization Failed with Permission denied. The report covers the container yards of the companies you have access to.
