GetAssetLocation
Returns where one of a customer’s containers is: the latest position reported for an asset on its
work order, such as the truck that carries it, with the latest event the customer can see. A
customer’s system uses it to follow one container. To get all of the customer’s open work orders
with their positions at once, use GetList; for a job’s work orders with
their details, use GetShipment.
In TrakIT, assets are put on a work order in its Assets box, and the positions of a GPS asset are on the asset’s Positions tab.
The endpoint answers for one customer only: the entity whose key is sent. How to send the key and read the response: Entity API keys, Responses.
GET /api/public/GetAssetLocation?APIKey=your-entity-key&ContainerNo=ABCU1234560&BookingNo=EXL-2610-0042Send the key in the APIKey query string parameter. It is the customer’s own key: the API Key
shown on the entity’s page when Enable API Access is on for the entity (see
entity fields). The key changes every year, and stops working when
Enable API Access is turned off: see Entity API keys.
URL-encode the key and the other values.
The key is part of the address, so keep these URLs out of logs you share.

Response
Section titled “Response”On success, Code is 1 and RetInfo is a list with at most one entry: the position recorded
last for the assets on the work orders that match, among the jobs whose customer is the key’s
entity. RowsAffected is 1.
The list is empty, with RowsAffected 0 and Code still 1, when the customer has no job with
that reference and container, or when no asset on the work order has reported a position.
